The Jerónimo Martins Group annually awards an academic merit award to the best group of the curricular unit Systems Analysis and Modeling, of the Department of Computer Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico.

Recipients and application conditions

Candidates for the “Jerónimo Martins in Analysis and Systems Modeling” Merit Award will be all Técnico students enrolled in the curricular unit Systems Analysis and  Modeling, of the Department of Computer Engineering at IST.

Student participation must be declared by the students themselves in project groups. The groups may be formed by the students in accordance with the rules announced for the curricular unit in each edition.

Selection criteria

The groups that declare their participation in each edition will be ranked by the jury according to the criteria defined for that edition, which will be announced to the students by the teaching staff at the beginning of the respective academic term.

Prize Value

• Monetary prize, to be given to the student: 1st place – €1,800 (one thousand eight hundred euros); 2nd place – €900 (nine hundred euros); 3rd place – €450 (four hundred and fifty euros).
• Donation to improve the quality of teaching, in the amount of €1,200 (one thousand two hundred euros).

Jury

In each edition, the Jury will be composed of career lecturers from Técnico who are teaching the Systems Analysis and Modelling course in the respective semester, and an equal or lesser number of representatives to be appointed by Jerónimo Martins.
The president of the jury will be the Técnico faculty member with the highest degree, or the most senior in the event of several faculty members with the same degree, and will have the casting vote.
