Access to Public Higher Education: Three of the ten most preferred courses in science are from Técnico
The Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Programme was the Técnico course with the highest ‘admission average’ (186.6).
Getting into Técnico is the goal of many students entering the National Competition for Access to Public Higher Education, which is reflected in some of the country’s highest Minimum Grade Points (MGP), colloquially known as ‘admission averages’.
This year, the Undergraduate Programme in Aerospace Engineering at Técnico has the second highest MGP at national level, with 186.8 points, sharing the position with the Medicine course at the University of Porto. The Undergraduate Programmes at Técnico with the second and third highest MGP are Engineering Physics (181.0) and Computer Science and Engineering (179.5 at Alameda campus), thus being included in the top 10 highest ‘admission averages’ in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at national level.
