Técnico and Brisa seek joint solutions at the first edition of i.Talks

On 18 April, the Oeiras Campus of the Instituto Superior Técnico hosted the first edition of i.Talks, an initiative developed by the School with the aim of bringing together Brisa employees and Técnico researchers and professors and promoting collaboration between the two institutions. During the session, the company presented various current issues and challenges it faces. The Técnico community was invited to present solutions by showcasing various projects and lines of research that seek to respond to the challenges faced by Brisa.

For Rogério Colaço, Técnico’s president, “Técnico’s Partner Network – which Brisa recently joined – is of great strategic importance to the school”. “Técnico’s mission is to contribute to the country’s technological development and this can only be achieved by maintaining close links with the business community,” he explained.
João Brito Portela, Management Executive at Brisa O&M, agreed, emphasising the importance of this type of initiative in linking industry to academia, and Brisa to Técnico.

The working session was attended by Joana Mendonça, vice-president for the Taguspark Campus, and moderated by Fátima Montemor, a professor at Técnico, who highlighted the presentation of “potential solutions and a great willingness to collaborate in various disciplines”.
