From 11 to 13 November, Instituto Superior Técnico will be at Web Summit, at FIL and Altice Arena, with its own stand in Pavilion 1 (E-176), supported by Fundação Santander.

Over the three days, the stand will be a meeting point for science, innovation, and community, featuring prototype demonstrations, conversations with alumni, interaction with student teams, and visits from startups and spin-offs from Técnico‘s ecosystem.

The institutional presence will include members of the School, namely the President, Professor Rogério Colaço, and the Vice-President for Corporate Interface, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Professor Pedro Amaral, as well as faculty, researchers, student teams, members of the Technology Transfer Office, and student volunteers, with the support of Fundação Santander.

Prototypes and demos at the stand (E-176)

Across the three days, the Técnico stand will host a rotating line-up of prototypes with live demos and Q&A with the teams: Vizzy, Lola, Rocky, Amália (Aerotec) and ISTSat-1.

Startups & spin-offs in a dedicated event area

Six Alpha startups born within Técnico’s Innovation and Technology Transfer ecosystem will be showcased at Web Summit, representing Instituto Superior Técnico: BreastScreening-AI, FreshIST, StoneBrick, Surfactinnov, STONIFY, and SIMBIOSE.

Técnico on the Experience Stage

Técnico will also be represented on the Experience Stage, with presentations of prototypes developed by student team, showcasing the practical application of engineering and the link between learning and experimentation:

• 12 November (15h20–15h55)— TFC and Técnico Solar Boat.
• 13 November (14:35–15:05) — TLMoto and FST Lisboa.

ULisboa initiative: “UniVerse – Academia Empreendedora”

On 11 November (17:00–20:00), at the Pavilhão de Portugal, the UniVerse – Academia Empreendedora will take place—an initiative that promotes dialogue between universities, companies, investors, and startups. It is built in collaboration with the Universities of Porto, Coimbra, Aveiro, Algarve, Évora, Madeira, and NOVA FCT, with the support of the Agência Nacional de Inovação, Startup Portugal, and the EIT Community Hub Portugal.
