Seminars: Technology Valorization and Commercialization
IST’s Technology Transfer Office in partnership with the I-deals/Everis Foundation will host three seminars on “Technology Valorization and Commercialization: from ideas to enterprises” and will take place on October 15th, 22nd and 29th atComplexo Interdisciplinar, IST.
The three seminars will be led by Enrique Abad, business analyst of I-deals, and will focus on valorization of the technologies and on process of commercialization.
PURPOSE:
The professors, researchers and PhD students must understand and be able to articulate the value of their patents and emerging technologies. DATES:
October, 15th – Chemistry/ Biotech: From 15:00 to 19:30.
October, 22nd – Physics/ Materials: From 14:00 to 18:30.
October, 29th – Mechanics/ Electronics/ Computer: From 15:00 to 19:30.
SUMMARY:
Valorization: key elements: Its main objective will be to introduce the basis of technology valorization as a way to bridge the gap between the “academia” and the market (industry). There will be activities regarding the process to select a target market and to determine a tentative price for a technology.
Technology market positioning: Its main objective will be to learn how to position a technology and its possible evolution (how to look for a market niche).
Customer segmentation/Value added proposition: Its main objective will be to define how to determine the value that a company receives from a technology: the value equation and its variables.
Business plan: key elements: Its main objective will be to get familiar with the “business model canvas” (as a tool to outline the business behind any product or service) and the “pitching technique” (to build the value proposition of a product / service).
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
The seminars are designed for professors, researchers and PhD students. The event is free, but reservations are required as seating is limited.
