Alumni Talks in brunch format: Technical Institute alumni and students discuss adapting to the job market.

The event introduced the brunch format and featured seven former students with more than 60 participants.

The event brought together seven former students from various fields in a lively brunch session that captured the interest of students eager to engage with professionals who had once been in their shoes.

The event opened with remarks from Rogério Colaço, President of the Técnico, who introduced the attending alumni and expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative. The brunch then began, providing each student with the opportunity to sit down with alumni whose academic and professional journeys sparked their interest, fostering diverse discussions in an informal setting.

At Manuel Andrade’s table, an alumnus in Mechanical Engineering and Head of Open Innovation at Galp, the discussion revolved around entrepreneurship and energy transition. Manuel shared his journey at the Technical Institute and mentioned that despite working in his field of study for several years, he feels a stronger connection to the areas of innovation, entrepreneurship, and management. “I consider my greatest professional achievement to be the current project Future Up, which focuses on raising awareness of energy issues among the younger generation,” he emphasized.
