Técnico launched a new platform that aims to create a closer relationship between the School and its alumni. The Técnico Alumni platform, available at alumni.tecnico.pt, was presented during the Solemn Session of the 111th anniversary of Técnico, celebrated on May 23. It is also available for Android or iOS, since the end of June 2022.

The Celfocus/Novabase Merit Award in Software Engineering 2020/2021 was delivered last Friday, July 1, to the Técnico students André Nascimento, Duarte Bento and Susana Monteiro, for the “Quizzes Tutor” project, developed in the scope of Software Engineering curricular unit and coordinated by professors António Rito da Silva and João Ferreira (Department of Computer Science and Engineering). Jerónimo Martins joins Técnico’s network of partners. Attribution of merit awards and participation in outreach activities to students will be some of the contributions of the business group.
This Wednesday, June 29th, Técnico and Jerónimo Martins signed a collaboration agreement within the scope of Técnico’s Partner Network. The event took place in the Meeting Room of the Central Pavilion and had as its high point the focus on what will be the participation of the business group in the most diverse dimensions.

Vodafone awards a merit award to the Smart Vase project developed by a Técnico student.
The prize in the amount of 1,310 euros was awarded by Vodafone to the best project presented by students from the Mobile Networks and Internet of Things course unit.
On the 29th of June, the VA2 Amphitheater of the Civil Pavilion prepared to host a session for the attribution of the Vodafone Merit Award in the Mobile Networks and Internet of Things curricular unit of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC) for the academic year 2021/2022. Six finalists were selected, with student João Rocheteau’s Smart Vase project winning.

This Wednesday, May 18th, Técnico celebrated another protocol. This time, the Meeting Room of the Central Pavilion was prepared to receive the insurance company Fidelidade, which is now joining Técnico’s Partner Network as a Gold member, with an active participation in various initiatives and projects.
Outreach activities with talent, with participation in the AEIST JobShop (the job fair of the Técnico students’ association), participation in SINFO career weeks, an event dedicated to technology with lectures, workshops and company presentations, collaboration with the Electrotechnical and Computer Engineering Days (JEEC), the Business and Technological Week (SET) and a talent search meeting are part of Fidelidade’s participation plans together with Técnico.
Fidelidade’s entry as a Gold member of Técnico’s partner network will allow greater proximity between the two institutions and support for various initiatives by the School and its students.

Técnico’s team of students wins a merit award given by Vodafone with the SmartMirror project.
May 11th was the date chosen for the delivery of the Vodafone merit award to the groups of students enrolled in the Mobile and Wireless Networks curricular unit of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC) in the academic year 2020/2021 . The award ceremony included a final pitch of the four best projects and took place in the VA1 Amphitheater of the Civil Engineering Pavilion. The winning project was SmartMirror, an intelligent mirror that activated its features through facial recognition.

“A scholarship promoted by students for students”.
Junitec, made up of Técnico students, awarded 3 scholarships to students who have just started their academic career.
The Civil Engineering Museum prepared to welcome 3 new students in what was the signing ceremony for the award of their scholarships, financed by Júnior Empresas of Instituto Superior Técnico (Junitec). This is always a moment of fulfillment for patrons. And a joy on the part of the students who won a scholarship, who are more than ready to receive it.

Técnico returns to Futurália!
It took four days to show what it’s like to study at Técnico.
Training offer, extracurricular projects and academic life were some of the topics that could not be left out.
The clarifications were provided by the Técnico Ambassadors and Guides from the Student Support Center (NAPE) who sought to clear up all the doubts of elementary and secondary school students who sought the Técnico stand.

Last Wednesday, March 30, the clarification session of the Técnico Summer Internships 2022 program took place.
The purpose of the session was to explain the dynamics of the program, highlight the diversity of opportunities and answer all the students’ questions. The enthusiasm, perceptible in the Congress Center, marked the start of yet another edition of what is one of the most sought after programs by Técnico students.
Applications for students interested in Técnico Summer Internships begin on April 18, via Técnico Job Bank, and the results will be announced by May 31.

A group of five students from Técnico – Taguspark campus, won the first edition of the Worten Merit Award in Warehouse and Materials Management. The challenge was to find a solution to improve Worten’s warehouse operations.
The Industrial Engineering and Management MSc students Guilherme São Pedro, Jorge Mira, Jessica Roberts, Mariana da Silva and Vitor Ferreira, created a project that focus on service automation that aims “to ensure the best possible response during peak demand, like Christmas and Black Friday”.
The award was delivered by two Worten representatives: engineer Hugo Alexandre, Supply Chain Management, and engineer Afonso Barroso, Area Coordinator. Engineer Hugo Alexandre stressed the importance of the partnership between Técnico and Worten, which made this award possible: “We are delivering this merit award for the first time. In the future, we want to provide more means and resources, both for teaching and research activities”.
