Merit Award BNP in Introduction to Mathematical Finance
BNP Paribas annually awards an academic merit award to the best student of the Curricular Unit of Introduction to Mathematical Finance of the Department of Mathematics of IST.
Target audience and application conditions
Candidates for the BNP Paribas Merit Award in Introduction to Mathematical Finance will be all IST students enrolled in UC Introduction to Mathematical Finance.
Rules and Conditions
- Students will be ranked according to the following criteria:
a) The final grade for the subject (UC), with up to three students achieving the highest grades being eligible for the prize. Only students who obtain a grade of 18 or higher will be considered.
(b) Those eligible for the prize must deliver a 10-minute pitch to the jury on a topic they have learned in the subject and consider important for an application of interest to them, with the option of digital support (e.g. video). Ideas on how the subject could help overcome the current challenges faced by companies such as BNP Paribas will be highly valued.
Prize
- Monetary prize, to be given to Student, amounting to € 1.800;
- Donation for the improvement of the education quality, in the amount of €1.200.
Jury
The jury panel must be composed of more than one IST faculty member so that they have a majority of the votes.
