Técnico students can apply for summer internships at companies until April 14.

“The internship helped me figure out what I wanted — and what I didn’t want.” These words from António Quendera, a Master’s student in Electrical and Computer Engineering, capture the essence of the summer internships promoted by Instituto Superior Técnico through the Técnico Job Bank. During the information session held by the Técnico Career Center on March 20, at the Alameda campus, António shared his experience with a summer internship at InfoControl, a company specialized in electrical systems for buildings. At the time, as a second-year student, he was interested in areas that he later realized “weren’t the right fit for him.”

Matilde Augusto, also a student of Electrical and Computer Engineering, likewise shared her summer internship experience at the company iCapital. “I found my internship through the Job Bank and that made the whole process much easier,” she said, highlighting how easy it was to find opportunities that matched her interests. “I worked with many colleagues and Técnico alumni, which helped me adapt a lot,” she noted, adding that “it was worth it to ‘miss out’ on summer vacation.”

Técnico students who are also looking to gain practical experience through a summer internship must submit their applications by April 14 via the Técnico Job Bank. The results will be announced by May 5. The internships will take place during the summer months, between June 16 and August 31, with variable durations (the contract between the company and the student must be signed by all parties at least one week before the internship begins).
