i.Talks@Técnico are short, focused encounters that bring Academia and Industry closer together. In these sessions, companies discover the work and progress achieved by faculty and researchers at Técnico, while the academic community engages directly with industry success stories, concrete challenges, and technology needs—including new business opportunities companies aim to explore.
i.Talks@Técnico take place under the protocol of the Técnico Partners Network (RPT).

Objectives

• Showcase research, prototypes, and proofs of concept developed at Técnico.
• Collect real industry challenges to guide new research, co-creation, and knowledge transfer.
• Explore opportunities for pre-competitive R&D, services, internships, and master’s theses.
• Accelerate connections between company technical teams and Técnico research groups.

Who it’s for

• Companies and organizations seeking applied innovation, top talent, and technology partnerships.
• Faculty, researchers, and students at Técnico interested in testing, validating, and transferring research outcomes.

How it works

• Format: in-person (or hybrid) sessions of 60–120 minutes, with short presentations followed by open discussion and matchmaking.
• Typical content:
  • Pitches on research lines and demonstrators.
  • Presentation of the company’s challenges and roadmap.
  • Identification of co-creation opportunities (projects, theses, internships, proofs of concept).
• Expected outcomes: next steps agreed, direct contacts, and a joint work timeline.
