Técnico entrepreneurial community gathered at the Web Summit 2023

Members of Técnico community, startups created at Técnico and partner companies attended the largest Technology and Innovation event in Portugal.

“Técnico helped us develop a problem-solving mindset”, says Pedro Ramos, CEO of DETU TECH and a Técnico alumnus, who attended the Web Summit 2023. Between 14th and 16th November, members of Técnico community, alumni, startups and members of Técnico Partner Network passed by the meeting points set up by Técnico’s Technology Transfer team. Bernardo Galego and Francisco Dias, DETU TECH representatives and alumni, shared that Técnico taught them a lot about engineering but also how to adapt it to the real world.

One of the meeting points was the Santander X exhibition booth, from Santander, one of the members of the Técnico Partner Network. Nuno Simões, Consultant at Santander, and Inês Rocha de Gouveia, Manager at Santander, explain how important it is for Santander X to be present at the Web Summit and highlight the company’s mission to promote entrepreneurship. Nuno Simões also spoke about his experience throughout his journey at Técnico and how he learnt to develop different skills, namely “effort, hard work and a lot of resilience”. Inês Rocha de Gouveia stressed the importance of the partnership between Santander and Técnico in promoting entrepreneurship among students.
KPMG, another member of Técnico Partner Network, also attended the event. Alexandre Correia, Partner at KPMG and alumnus, emphasised the importance of having “close contact with Técnico and with Técnico Talent”.
