Purpose

Explore the limitless potential of innovators, thinkers and visionaries that we find among Técnico students and discover innovative projects and concepts that have the power to shape the world in a positive way.

We believe that great ideas can come from anywhere, and this competition aims to support and reward projects conceived by Técnico students enrolled in Entrepreneurship and Innovation curricular units, regardless of the cycle of studies,

Target

• All IST students enrolled in an Entrepreneurship course unit in the academic year 2023-2024 are eligible to apply.

Applications

Applications to the E.Awards@Técnico take place until June 18th 2024.

• Only applications made through the respective Form will be considered. FORM HERE

• All candidates must attach to the Entry Form in Poster* of their project

Deadlines

• Submission of applications: September 18th to June 18th 2024 – HERE
• Communication of the projects selected for the final pitch: until June 25th 2024;
• Exhibition of posters to be voted on by the IST community: June 26th to July 3th 2024;
• Final Pitch: July 3th 2024

Evaluation Criteria

1. In the first phase of tabulation, the jury’s assessment will be based on the following criteria:

• Development status of the project;
• Competence and suitability of the team;
• Technology/ Degree of innovation and feasibility of the project;
• Validation and potential of the business model or social and environmental impact.

2. In the Final Pitch the jury will evaluate each project based on the 3-minute pitch and how the team answered the questions, with the following criteria:

• Business model: validation by customers, revenue model, partnerships, customer acquisition, market and the like;
• Potential for Social and Environmental Impact;
• Technology: feasibility, complexity, quality of prototype, and the like;
• Presentation: quality and effectiveness of the speaker and slides, graphic quality of the prototype and website, among other acceptable supports.

3. Voting for the best posters will take place using a special form, which will involve submitting a single vote identified with the email address assigned by Técnico (xxxx@técnico.ulisboa.pt).

Awards

In this edition, the best entrepreneurship projects selected by the jury are awarded with the following values:

• Best E.Project by Santander – €3.500;
• Honorable Mention by by Accenture – €1000;
• Honorable Mention by Armilar Ventures –  €1000;
• Best Poster by Accenture – 2 awards of €500 each;
• Consultancy Hours for the 3 Winning Projects by Armilar Ventures.

Jury Panel

The jury will be composed by five members:

• one member appointed by Santander Universities;
• one member appointed by Accenture Consultores de Gestão S.A;
• one member appointed by Armilar Venture Partners;
• one IST professor with a link to entrepreneurship who will be the president of the jury;
• one external guest with an outstanding track record in innovation and entrepreneurship.
