KPMG annually awards an academic merit award to the best student of the Curricular Unit of Cloud Computing and Virtualization of the  Computer Engineering Department of Técnico Lisboa.

Target audience and application conditions

Candidates to the KPMG Cloud Computing and Virtualization Prize are all IST students enrolled in the curricular unit of Cloud Computing and Virtualization and who have successfully completed the Curricular Unit during the Normal or Appeal Period.

Selection criteria

Students will be graded according to the following criteria:

• UC final grade (80% weighting), up to 8 (eight) students with the highest final grade for the curricular unit (before rounding) are eligible for the award.
• Video pitch presentation (20% weighting). Students eligible for the award will be contacted by the jury, confirming their eligibility for the second phase of the process, and informing them of the need to submit a 3-minute pitch video presentation on the aspects they have learned in the curricular unit that they consider important for an application of interest to you; at the award ceremony, this pitch will be presented and evaluated live; The candidates will be scored by the jury that will decide on the attribution of the prize.

Jury decisions are not subject to appeal.

Prize Value

• Monetary prize, to be given to the winner, in the amount of €1,535.00 (one thousand five hundred and thirty-five euros);
• Donation to improve the quality of education, in the amount of €1,025.00 (one thousand and twenty-five euros).

Jury

The jury must be composed of:

• The Professor responsible for the Curricular Unit;
• Another Lecturer not involved in the discipline to be designated by IST;
• A Company representative.
