Sky Merit Award in Algorithms for Computational Logic

 

Sky annually awards an academic merit award to the best student of the Curricular Unit of Algorithms for Computational Logic of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of IST.

Target audience and application conditions

Candidates for the Sky Merit Award in Algorithms for Computational Logic will be all IST students enrolled in UC Algorithms for Computational Logic.

Rules and Conditions

  1. 1. Students will be ranked according to their final grade in the Algorithms for Computational Logic course unit, as defined in the assessment methods (80%), and the jury’s assessment of the quality and innovation of the solutions produced (20%). In the event of a tie, the students will be invited to give a presentation on the Algorithms for Computational Logic course on the day of the prize-giving ceremony, at a time to be determined, preferably by the end of the first semester.
    2. The presentation will last 3 to 5 minutes and will be followed by 5 to 10 minutes of questions from the jury.
    3 The Jury will assess each student on the basis of the pitch, using the following criteria:
  2. – Confidence and clarity in the presentation and subsequent interaction with the jury;
  3. – Accuracy.
    4) The selected student can only benefit from 1 (one) Merit Award in the same academic year.

Prize

  • Monetary prize, to be given to Student, amounting to € 1.535;
  • Donation for the improvement of the education quality, in the amount of €1.025.

Jury

The jury panel must be composed of more than one IST faculty member so that they have a majority of the votes.
